Human nature is bent on lying, stealing, hatred, jealousy, envy, faultfinding,
and all other human tendencies. Because of these traits, man is easily offended.
Every little thing that
crosses his pathway causes him to sulk, to be irritable and offensive.
The old nature is what we
need to fight most in our endeavor to build up Christian character. How wonderful it would be if we
could always remember that Christ is mightier than all the evil instincts that
might arise within us, for "greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the
world."
Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him]
and have
[already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist],
because He Who lives in you
is greater (mightier) than
he who is in the world. 1
John 4:4 Amplified Bible
Against the heavenly
armor, principalities and powers, yes devils and men, have no dominion. Why, oh,
why, then, are we conquered so often? Why offended so easily?
There is a way of
escape, and that way can be found. Our devotional text gives the
secret of how we may keep from being offended.
"Great peace have they who love
Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble."
Psalms 116:165
Peace of mind and heart
keeps one calm in the crisis hour. This peace is obtained through the love that
makes one obedient to the law of God.
The peace that comes to the
soul is not an ordinary one, but one that is great enough to keep us sweet
although others may try to offend us.
"...nothing shall offend them..."
Transgressors of the law are easily offended because the peace of God is absent
from their lives. "Oh, that you had hearkened to
My commandments! Then your peace...would
have been like a flowing river..." Isaiah 14:18 What a beautiful picture of a
life that trusts and obeys, a life that will not be offended.

If you think the fight against fake news is over, you're wrong. The wholesale deception of news viewers continues, as the Center for Media and Democracy's (CMD's) latest research shows. You can see the problem by clicking here, or going to www.prwatch.org/fakenews3/summary.
Last year, we released two groundbreaking multimedia reports documenting the widespread and undisclosed use of fake TV news, or "video news releases" (VNRs). VNRs disguise corporate or government public relations messages as news. Worse, television stations frequently include VNRs in their newscasts, without any disclosure to viewers.
Thanks to our research and to your action, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently announced its intention to fine Comcast for VNR broadcasts documented by CMD. This is the first time ever that a media company has been held responsible for fake news!
However, this doesn't mean that the fake news problem is solved. In fact, additional research by CMD identified recent instances where a television station aired three pre-packaged VNRs in their entirety.
Because of the new catches, and because the FCC has yet to act on VNR complaints against 110 other television stations, CMD is launching a new campaign: "Know Fake News."
Our research has shown that disclosure of fake news continues to be the exception, not the rule. Of the 143 VNR broadcasts documented by CMD to date, only two -- that's 1.4%! -- provided clear disclosure to news viewers. Yet television remains the number one news source in the United States.
The FCC's proposed fines are a great first step, but more must be done to ensure viewers' right to know.
PR executives, broadcasters and others are furiously lobbying the FCC to back off. The agency needs to hear from concerned citizens like you, to stop the fake news epidemic!

The Church State Connection Pilate said to them, Take Him yourselves and judge and sentence and punish Him according to your [own] law. The Jews answered, It is not lawful for us to put someone to death. John 18:31 Amplified Bible
When men indulge this accusing spirit, they are not satisfied with pointing
out what they suppose to be a defect in their brother. If milder means fail
of making him do what they think ought to be done, they will resort to
compulsion. Just as far as it lies in their power they will force men to
comply with their ideas of what is right. This is what the Jews did in the
days of Christ and what the church has done ever since whenever she has lost
the grace of Christ.
Finding herself destitute of the power of love, she has reached out for the
power of the state to enforce her dogmas and execute her decrees. Here is
the secret of all religious laws that have ever been enacted, and the secret
of all persecution from the days of Able to our time. Christ does not drive but draws men unto Him.
The only compulsion which He employs is the constraint of love.
When the church begins to seek for the support of secular powers, it is evident that she is devoid of the power of Christ - the constraint of divine love. Source: Mount of Blessing by E.G. White The Stanborough Press Limited ISBN# 1-904685-06-4 Pages 126-127

A major film, called End Of The Spear, will be launched January 20, 2006. I believe God will use it in a big way. It depicts the effects of the grace of God in very powerful ways. The story begins in 1956, when five Christian missionaries (Nate Saint, Jim Elliot, Roger Youderian, Pete Fleming and Ed McCully) gave their lives in an Ecuadorian jungle, attempting to bring the gospel to the Waodani stone age people. At that time they were the most violent tribe on Earth -- and yet they became the most loving and peaceful! /fontfamily> The missionaries made friendly contact, but something went terribly wrong. The Waodani speared them to death. A tragedy? Yes, but God turns everything to good, for the blessing of many and for His glory, and this was no exception. /fontfamily> God used this tragedy to motivate more people to become missionaries than any other event in modern history -- perhaps ever. He also used two women to complete the work of the five martyred missionaries, bringing the Waodani to himself. So the deaths of those five men did more to advance the kingdom of God than their lives ever could.

Shakespeare said, "All the world is a stage." Question? What kind of an actor are you? Improvisational? Improvisational actors typically use audience suggestions to guide their performance. Note. Improvisational actors typically react to situations that are right in front of them without using proactive techniques to totally re-guide them. When you watch the news...do you "improv" or look beyond the common culture for insights - like prophecy from the bible? If your total frame of reference is what is placed in front of you on the TV or popular movies and culture like popular music - you will play your part (as programmed) if you don't challenge their premises. That "part" is to be shallow and to buy into/purchase or believe what ever is advertised and programmed in the common culture. We all have a bigger part to play. Revelation 3:20-22. The last book in the bible summarizes our purpose for existence. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him , and he [will eat] with Me. He who overcomes (is victorious) I will grant to him to sit beside Me on My throne, as I Myself overcame (was victorious) and sat down beside My Father on His throne. He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the [Holy] Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). The Amplified Bible Choosing to go vegetarian is simply a matter of living according to the values so many of us hold dear, such as being fair and kind to others. Most people would never dream of cramming up to 11 egg-laying hens into a file drawer-sized cage, ripping the testicles out of a screaming baby piglet, or cutting the throat of a cow as she stares back at you with her big brown eyes. How then, as compassionate individuals, can we justify paying others to carry out these atrocities on our behalf? | The average vegetarian saves the lives of approximately 95 animals each year. That adds up to thousands during a lifetime. Every time we eat, we are making a powerful choice that has profound consequences on the lives of animals. At each meal, we make a decision between supporting cruelty or living compassionately. |

Think Outside of the "Box." Open a bible. Improvisational theatre (also known as improv or impro) is a form of theatre in which the actors use improvisational acting techniques to perform spontaneously. Actors typically use audience suggestions to guide their performance as they create dialogue, setting, and plot extemporaneously. Improvisational theatre performances tend to be comedic, although some forms, including Playback Theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed, are not necessarily intended to be comedic. Many improvisational actors also work as scripted actors, and "improv" techniques are often taught in standard acting classes. The basic skills of listening, clarity, confidence, and performing instinctively and spontaneously are considered important skills for actors to develop. Question! Why did the people on earth ignore Noah when he said a flood would come? Why did they all drown and die, except for Noah and his family? Genesis Chapters 1 and 2 give the biblical account of creation. The earth was watered from the ground - not by rain. God expected the people to live by faith that a worldwide flood would come. Rain was unknown before the flood. They walked (lived) by sight - what they could see with their eyes and observe by the normal senses. Notice all things appeared normal for 7 days after Noah and his family went into the boat, the ark. Once the ark was shut by God, the opportunity to be saved was gone forever. There opportunity for eternal life was lost. Not one person entered the ark on a lark or for the fun of it to prove Noah wrong. Check out a of Noah's Ark. Examine the physical evidence of a flood. Notes highlighted area, below, in maroon explain that Noah saved himself and his family by believing God by faith. Genesis 7:9-11 8-9He obeyed God and took a male and a female of each kind of animal and bird into the boat with him. 10Seven days later a flood began to cover the earth. 11-12Noah was six hundred years old when the water under the earth started gushing out everywhere. The sky opened like windows, and rain poured down for forty days and nights. All this began on the seventeenth day of the second month of the year. Genesis 1-2 (Contemporary English Version) Source: www.BibleGateway.comGenesis 1The Story of Creation 1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [a] 2The earth was barren, with no form of life; [b] it was under a roaring ocean covered with darkness. But the Spirit of God [c] was moving over the water. The First Day 3 God said, "I command light to shine!" And light started shining. 4God looked at the light and saw that it was good. He separated light from darkness 5and named the light "Day" and the darkness "Night." Evening came and then morning--that was the first day. [d] The Second Day 6 God said, "I command a dome to separate the water above it from the water below it." 7And that's what happened. God made the dome 8and named it "Sky." Evening came and then morning--that was the second day. The Third Day 9 God said, "I command the water under the sky to come together in one place, so there will be dry ground." And that's what happened. 10God named the dry ground "Land," and he named the water "Ocean." God looked at what he had done and saw that it was good. 11God said, "I command the earth to produce all kinds of plants, including fruit trees and grain." And that's what happened. 12The earth produced all kinds of vegetation. God looked at what he had done, and it was good. 13Evening came and then morning--that was the third day. The Fourth Day 14 God said, "I command lights to appear in the sky and to separate day from night and to show the time for seasons, special days, and years. 15I command them to shine on the earth." And that's what happened. 16God made two powerful lights, the brighter one to rule the day and the other [e] to rule the night. He also made the stars. 17Then God put these lights in the sky to shine on the earth, 18to rule day and night, and to separate light from darkness. God looked at what he had done, and it was good. 19Evening came and then morning--that was the fourth day. The Fifth Day 20 God said, "I command the ocean to be full of living creatures, and I command birds to fly above the earth." 21So God made the giant sea monsters and all the living creatures that swim in the ocean. He also made every kind of bird. God looked at what he had done, and it was good. 22Then he gave the living creatures his blessing--he told the ocean creatures to live everywhere in the ocean and the birds to live everywhere on earth. 23Evening came and then morning--that was the fifth day. The Sixth Day 24 God said, "I command the earth to give life to all kinds of tame animals, wild animals, and reptiles." And that's what happened. 25God made every one of them. Then he looked at what he had done, and it was good. 26God said, "Now we will make humans, and they will be like us. We will let them rule the fish, the birds, and all other living creatures." 27So God created humans to be like himself; he made men and women. 28God gave them his blessing and said: Have a lot of children! Fill the earth with people and bring it under your control. Rule over the fish in the ocean, the birds in the sky, and every animal on the earth. 29I have provided all kinds of fruit and grain for you to eat. 30And I have given the green plants as food for everything else that breathes. These will be food for animals, both wild and tame, and for birds. 31God looked at what he had done. All of it was very good! Evening came and then morning--that 1was the sixth day. Genesis 2 1So the heavens and the earth and everything else were created. The Seventh Day 2 By the seventh day God had finished his work, and so he rested. 3God blessed the seventh day and made it special because on that day he rested from his work. 4That's how God created the heavens and the earth. When the LORD God made the heavens and the earth, The Garden of Eden 5no grass or plants were growing anywhere. God had not yet sent any rain, and there was no one to work the land. 6But streams [f] came up from the ground and watered the earth. 7The LORD God took a handful of soil and made a man. [g] God breathed life into the man, and the man started breathing. 8The LORD made a garden in a place called Eden, which was in the east, and he put the man there. 9The LORD God placed all kinds of beautiful trees and fruit trees in the garden. Two other trees were in the middle of the garden. One of the trees gave life--the other gave the power to know the difference between right and wrong. 10From Eden a river flowed out to water the garden, then it divided into four rivers. 11The first one is the Pishon River that flows through the land of Havilah, 12where pure gold, rare perfumes, and precious stones are found. 13The second is the Gihon River that winds through Ethiopia. [h] 14The Tigris River that flows east of Assyria is the third, and the fourth is the Euphrates River. 15The LORD God put the man in the Garden of Eden to take care of it and to look after it. 16But the LORD told him, "You may eat fruit from any tree in the garden, 17except the one that has the power to let you know the difference between right and wrong. If you eat any fruit from that tree, you will die before the day is over!" 18The LORD God said, "It isn't good for the man to live alone. I need to make a suitable partner for him." 19-20So the LORD took some soil and made animals and birds. He brought them to the man to see what names he would give each of them. Then the man named the tame animals and the birds and the wild animals. That's how they got their names. None of these was the right kind of partner for the man. 21So the LORD God made him fall into a deep sleep, and he took out one of the man's ribs. Then after closing the man's side, 22the LORD made a woman out of the rib. The LORD God brought her to the man, 23and the man exclaimed, "Here is someone like me! She is part of my body, my own flesh and bones. She came from me, a man. So I will name her Woman!" [i] 24That's why a man will leave his own father and mother. He marries a woman, and the two of them become like one person. 25Although the man and his wife were both naked, they were not ashamed. ______________________________________________________________________________ Search for this book and others at http://www.rhpa.org/

| MANY CHURCH LEADERS and politicians are unified on the hotly debated issue of legislating Sunday as a day of rest. Today, great efforts are being made to gain influence in the executive and legislative circles of the United States federal government in order to enact laws for the observance of Sunday as a national day of rest. The thrust is not overtly religious but is couched in a concern for the welfare of the American family. This activity is being duplicated in other parts of the world as well under the same pretense. It is ironic to see this kind of legislation being promoted http://www.sundaylaw.net/opening/enter.htm |

Bricolage – from the French-language verb bricoler, meaning "to tinker" or "to fiddle" – is that language's equivalent of the English phrase "do-it-yourself".Bricolage is also often contrasted to engineering: building by trial and error rather than based on theory. Action Alert: Tell Your Senators to Kick Out the Flags
On May 1,2006 Senator Stevens introduced the "Communications, Consumer's Choice, and Broadband Deployment Act" (S.2686). Buried inside this 125-page bill is language that would create a broadcast flag in over-the-air TV transmissions and give the FCC power to create a similar technology mandate for digital radio.
If this bill were to pass, government and the entertainment industry would control what you could do with digital media in your home. The broadcast flag would place TV shows in a DRM ghetto, where your right to copy, back-up, time-shift or convert them into formats convenient to you would be at the whim of the broadcasters. The audio flag would give the FCC matching powers over "digital audio broadcasting," including satellite radio, digital HD radio, and potentially even Internet radio.
There's no benefit here for artists or customers -- no matter how inconvenienced ordinary users would be by a flag, pirates would be able to bypass it. The bill would usher in a new world of anti-consumer electronics and a chance for
the MPAA's and RIAA's member companies to seize even greater control over all media distribution and use.

Leaving his place in the immediate presence of the Father, Lucifer went forth to diffuse the spirit of discontent among the angels. He worked with mysterious secrecy, and for a time concealed his real purpose under an appearance of reverence for God.
