No Second Chance

The second chance theory is dangerous and unsound. It leads one to conclude that God has given us this present life for the purpose of living as we please, of putting off our preparation for the next world. It throws open the door to lawlessness, and this results in the endorsement of crime and rebellion against God. It reaches the opposite of what God says.

The second chance theory is one of Satan's fanciful, deceptive teachings. His teachings are always dangerous and unsound. He knows that one takes a chance of never being saved if he believes in this theory. He wants us to be lost, and this is one way of putting off preparation until some future time, a time when it will be too late for us to be forgiven.

And just as it is appointed for [all] men once to die, and after that the [certain] judgment, Hebrews 9:27

The second chance theory pleases the human heart. It advocates the thought, "Not now, but later." There are many who believe in this theory because it seems to be convenient for them to put off their decision for Christ.

This question, "Will man have a second chance?" is a most important question. Our eternal destiny depends upon our attitude toward it. The question demands a definite answer and that answer must be based upon the Word of God. The Bible does not leave us in a fog or mist concerning this vital subject. It has a clear answer.

For He is our God and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice, Harden not your hearts as at Meribah and as at Massah in the day of temptation in the wilderness, Psalms 95:7- 8

He who is unrighteous (unjust, wicked), let him be unrighteous still; and he who is filthy (vile, impure), let him be filthy still; and he who is righteous (just, upright, in right standing with God), let him do right still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still.  Revelation 22:11

And just as it is appointed for [all] men once to die, and after that the [certain] judgment, Hebrews 9:27

Then will they call upon me [Wisdom] but I will not answer; they will seek me early and diligently but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord, Proverbs 1:28-29

If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie. Ecclesiastes 11:3
